NON-Profit 0rg. offers scholarship!
A non- stock , non profit organization is offering scholarship to poor Filipino youth.
Filipino Global Charity Association (FGCA) is composed of
Filipinos and non Filipinos residing in Sweden & around the Globe who share the same concerns, interest, aspirations and goals in life, one of which is to help our poor but deserving people back home.The organisation is registered in November 2005, is based in Umeå, Sweden.
Our Objectives: 1. To provide the very poor youth in the Philippines access to quality education. 2. To form productive, socially responsible young people who can and are committed to serve the nation in coming generation.
General Criteria of Eligibility: a.) Filipino citizen.
b.) must be physically and mentally fit; has good moral character. c.) have obtained a general weighted average of at least 85% with no failing grade; d.) must come from a family whose combined annual income is P72,000.00 or lower as reflected on the Income Tax Returns (ITR) or on a certification from the Barangay; e.) must pass the qualifying test for the course/program he is applying for. f)All applicants for the scholarship shall be required to write an essay in English or Filipino as part of their requirements. The title of the essay shall be: "Why Do I Deserve this Scholarship." And please copy furnished the Association of your essay and do send your write up to: info@filipinocharity.org via the Internet.
Documentary Requirements: a.) Latest copy of grades (report card for grade school and high school, and transcript of records for college) with no failing mark; b.) Certification of Good Moral Character from principal or dean c.) Latest Income Tax Return or BIR Certification of Exemption of parents/guardian d.) Two (2) passport-size (2x2) colored pictures
Application Procedure: a) The applicant must get and submit his application form together with the needed requirements, at the Scholarship Coordinator, Holy Name University;
b) He/She must pass the screening procedure consisting of: Entrance test to the course.
Secure and file application at the Scholarship Office of Holy Name University, c/o Meinard T. Butalid, scholarship coordinator. The examination will be on February 24, 2007, 8 am at the Guidance Testing Center
Selection of Scholars: a.) Financial need b.) Entrance examination result c.) Ability to finish the course
Scholarship Privileges: - Free tuition and other school fees until completion of the course
- Academic Support (books, uniform, supplies, etc.) - Non-academic support (meals, lodging-if needed)
Scholarship Obligations:
Scholars are required to take the full load of the program per semester/year. They are expected to be an ideal youth in the community.
Also, they must pass all the required subjects. Any failure means forfeiture of the grant.
Courses Offered:
BEED only: BEED-GCC; BEED-SPED & BEED PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION.
