Filipino Mascarade Party
Our treasurer, Julieta Eriksson attended the Filipino Mascarade Party in Umeå last Nov. 24
This is to promote and introduce FGCA to other Filipinos in Sweden. Please check the photos in our website!
FGCA 1-yr Anniversary
The anniversary celebration was discussed during the last officers meeting but no final decision was made. Some of the suggestions were to have it in Stockholm in an open venue sometime in July. Venues like Kungsträdsgården and Sergels Torg are the two alternatives. The celebration shall feature cultural dances, bazaar and Filipino food.

No. 3
Welcome to FGCA Newsletter No. 3! Guess what??? We are growing! and that is really GREAT news! It only shows that more and more Filipinos are very much willing to extend their financial help to those who are in need. In this issue, we will provide you the association’s latest financial status and other developments.
The FGCA’s Financial Status
Please be informed that as of December 2006,the total amount that we have and to be collected is 25,575.75 crowns in which the breakdown were as follows (in swedish crowns):
Cash on Bank - 14,075.75 ; Account Receivables – 1, 900.00; Amount Pledged – 2, 100.00 Renewal of membership fees 2007- 7,500.00
Although the 30,000 goal is still not reached we have decided to start our first scholarship program in June of this year. We are hoping for the continuous and undying support of our members and benefactors.
The Scholarship Program:
The negotiation with Mr. Meinard Butalid of The Holy Name University is finally completed.
The HNU Scholarship coordinator will issue an announcement/advertisement to the newspapers in Bohol and likewise provide informations to all Highschools announcing the start of the FGCA Scholarship Program.
A copy of the press release and the information drive which will be done by the HNU will be posted later.
FGCA Ambassador:
We would also like to welcome our first FGCA Ambassador in Eskilstuna, Ms. Marissa Paronen. You are not only giving FGCA a great favor but you are also promoting as well the Filipino values of helping others in need and helping our talented Filipino youths back home acquiring a good education.Thanks Marissa!
Another welcome addition to our list of Ambassadors from Skåne Ms. Rose Selvåg and Landskrona Ms. Rose Liden. What a rosy time of the year indeed and its not even summer yet. Thank you ladies!
Because FGCA is global with members all around the world, we are currently looking for more FGCA Ambassadors to introduce and represent FGCA in their respective areas. So, take the challenge now and be an FGCA Ambassador!! We are looking forward to hear from you soon...
We are hoping to make our growth faster by multiplying ourselves thru other people, thus "be an FGCA Ambassador " concept was conceived. We have also created an "open forum" in our website where everyone, members and non-members alike can share their ideas, suggestions, opinions and or feed backs, whatsoever. So invite your friends now, relatives, acquaintances, friends of your friends, to visit our website and let them discover the beauty of our "pusong pinoy" !
