The FGCA Update

GREETINGS!
In behalf of the officers and members of FGCA , allow me to be the first in greeting each and everyone of us a Happy Yuletide season 2010-2011. It was exactly five years ago (November 2005) since FGCA was created. See how time flies, we never expected to have come this far if not for your undying and continuous support. So hopefully, we will still be together, kicking and alive for the next five years.

SCHOLARS
Our very first scholar GlendMae Gallogo is now on her last year of studies (BSED-Sped) and will graduate hopefully October 2011. She is studying at Holy Name University in Bohol and is a consistent Deans Lister.

Carmella del Rosario is our scholar in Cebu City, studying at Phil. Normal University and currently on her 3rd year of studies in BS Math.

Melody Dumaog and Rochelle Paculba were the latest addition to our rooster of scholars. Both were studying at Mindanao State University in Naawan, Misamis Oriental taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Animal Science respectively.

ACTIVITIES
We have not been very active in recruiting new members the last two years for one reason or another. Only a few fund raising activities were realized (thanks) through the initiative of Amor Klippmark in the south of Sweden and some donations from magnanimous people around the globe.

Right now, we have already secured the scholars budget until March 2011. But we must remember though that we are running a charity. The resources we've gathered will determine whether these scholars will be able to finish their studies or not. To borrow a cliché "offer is good while supply lasts". So you see the fate of the scholars depends upon you, us, members and going to be members.

I am therefore requesting, enjoining everyone to renew their membership or donate any amount you can afford. No amount is small in charity because it is by joining our hands and putting our resources together that FGCA succeeded. So take the initiative this Christmas, collect any amount in your group gatherings, parties and get togethers. FGCA has not failed you in the last five years so there is no reason for us to separate ways for the next five years. FGCA delivers, you see the results.

One of FGCA's key to success is transparency not to forget of course the close cooperation and good communication between officers. But no one in the association is receiving a salary or honorarium in cash or in kind. Everyone is working voluntarily so we have no room for corruption. And any member for that matter can always demand if he/she may wish to see FGCA's financial statement for the last five years. So let us ACT NOW and continue our support in MAKING A BIG DIFFERENCE in the lives of our scholars.
