"Why Do I Deserve This Scholarship?"

"I have to succeed!"  This statement was my main goal since I was a little child, very young, yet I already  have awareness on the things around me.  This line always strucked me every time I think of my future.

Every time I look forward on this aim, there is always a fear within me that made me timid of what will happen someday regarding my future career, because we are not financially stable to be able to send me to college considering that my father is only a carpenter, has low income that is just enough to satisfy our daily needs and my mother is just a housewife.  I know it would  be another burden for my parents if they will send me to school owing to, my older sister is still in college.  Even if she is a striver or working scholar in their school, still we are paying a part of her tuition fee.  And thanks God, not that much.

Yes, financial need is the number one factor that hinders my aspiration to become a successful woman someday, a woman with stable job and well paid career.  This is also the reason why I applied for this scholarship, the FGCA.  Praying and hoping that through this, I will be given a chance to pursue my studies and make all my dreams come true.  To prove to my parents that all their hardships and sacrifices are all worth it, in the sense that after schooling, I will then find job to be financially stable, to make my family out from poverty and give them an easier way of living.

There is one thing that always goes with my purpose to success, which is to help other people.  Indeed, I want to be a useful being to my fellowman.  I dreamed of sharing my knowledge, abilities and skills to others especially to people like those who have disabilities in speaking, hearing, seeing and many more.  I want to touch lives in my own little ways and brought great impact to renew their lives and their view of life.  And the thing that I know to be able to help and touch lives of others, is to educate them, be good and model pedagogue to them.

These are just the two main reasons why I think and believe that I deserve this scholarship.  To all people behind this FGCA, you are definitely giving hope to all the youth, not just in the Philippines but around the globe as well, especially me who is aspiring, longing and aiming for SUCCESS!
